Büyükelçinin Mesajı

Dear Citizens,

I am honored and delighted to be assigned as the Turkish Ambassador to Serbia during such a time where our bilateral relations are at their historic peak. Close communication between our Presidents, our increasing cooperation at every level and the boost we are experiencing on mutual visits make our strong relations possible.

High Level Cooperation Council, which is being convened regularly and chaired by our Presidents, indicate the excellent course of our current relations. We sign important documents during these meetings to further strengthen our bilateral cooperation.

We inaugurated our Consulate General in Novi Pazar on the occasion of the visit of H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, on 31 August - 1 September 2021 for the preparations of the next High Level Cooperation Council meeting. Our Consular Office in Niš started its operations in August 2022.

We constantly observe all-time high numbers on our bilateral trade volume. Our target is to increase this number, which exceeded 2 billion US Dollars, to 5 billion US Dollars as our Presidents have agreed upon.

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) continues to conduct its activities in Serbia without delay. TİKA has finalized more than 300 projects worth approximately 40 million US Dollars.

It is heartwarming to see that the people of Serbia show greater interest towards the Turkish language every single day. Belgrade Yunus Emre Institute has provided Turkish courses to more than 3.000 people from all over Serbia.

The first direct Belgrade-Ankara flight of our flag carrier Turkish Airlines in history on 23 December 2021, and Air Serbia’s flights from Niš and Kraljevo to Istanbul serve the strong ties between our peoples and further increase our tourism cooperation.

We gladly follow the fast development of Serbia and feel pride that more than 1.400 Turkish firms in the country directly contribute to this exceptional growth. Our firms are mostly involved with sectors such as textiles, automotive supply industry, construction, ready-made garments, household appliances, banking and tourism. The enduring support by Serbian authorities to our companies encourage us to instruct more Turkish businesspeople to invest in Serbia.

I will continue my efforts to further strengthen the close bilateral ties between Türkiye and Serbia, as well as to ensure that all our citizens and related communities receive the best service during their time of need.

My greetings and best wishes on behalf of all employees of our Embassy in Belgrade.

Hami AKSOY

Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Serbia
